Stitch Marker Contest!!

I'm attempting to have a contest. I don't know if it will work since there really isn't all that much traffic on my blog. Who cares, I have some stuff I want to give away. So here goes. This is meant mostly for people involved in the Hogwart's Sock Kit Swap but anyone else is welcome to join in on the fun.

How do you enter?
Well, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post by 6pm EST Tuesday September 4 saying what knitting related items you would love to receive in a secret pal type swap. In other words, if someone were to randomly send you a little something, what would make you squeal with delight.

What's the prize?
I have a few sets of stitch markers I made in Gryffindor colors. I don't want to post a picture since my pal is Gryffindor and I made a pair for her. They can be passed along to your Gryffindor pal if you involved in the HSKS or just kept them for yourself.

Good luck, I'll pick a few winners randomly (if I even have 3 people enter!)

Hello fellow Ravenclaw :o)

I love receiving unique items - stitch markers, interesting yarns (weird content- corn, hemp, bamboo), pattern booklets, row counters are always a good idea!

Some things I do are to go back into posts and see what kind of yarns my pal has used in the past (more than once that is) and get some of those!

I just saw the beautiful Kaffe Fassett sock year today. It is much more beautiful in real life than in photos. I would squeal if they came in Gryffindor corors.

Another Ravenclaw here...
I would squeal about pretty much anything, I'm still such a baby knitter that my supplies are minimal!

If my secret pal sent me something, what would would make me squeal with delight? Hmmm...I would have to say anything they made themselves. I find it fascinating how creative knitters are and since joining the online knitting community I've become so much more adventurous myself! Thanks for the opportunity to enter a contest!!

I'm with krisknit79 - it's the handmade things that impress me most. Or something my pal has found to be particularly useful (include an explanation why you love it).

I'm a Ravenclaw, too. Here's to the House Cup! :)

Hello fellow HSKS3 swapper! hmmm what would make me squeel with delight ... something homemade - I love anything with creativity or a really delicious yarn (i.e for me great colors or really soft - I love texture) or books or needles, or... Wow - just about anything knitting related.

Thanks for hosting the contest and giving away some of your hard work!

From one Ravenclaw to another: I would be so excited to receive sock yarn made from some of the "newer" fibers (corn, hemp, seaweed, bamboo -- all renewable resources). Oh, oh, how about some wonderful dpn's from Lantern Moon (mmmmm).

Thank you for having a contest! What fun.

In a secret swap, I'd love to see something handmade or something that is special from where my pal lives

What would make me squeal in delight ? hmm... never ending sock yarn ? that would be amazingly cool, but alas, I doubt anyone would give that away. Anything that is purple/cute/soft would have me smiling

Thanks for the opportunity

Hiya Julianne,

Fellow Ravenclaw Hettie here. What a cute idea for a contest... so sweet! Squealing with delight... hmmm. I'm more of a crocheter than a knitter (still learning to knit), so inox or wooden hooks/needles, natural yarns and fibers (especially local to the person giving) books, etc. are always wonderful.

But what really pulls at my heartstrings are gifts that someone made for me-- I cherish these most of all!

Happy Sunday!

Another Ravenclaw here! I would love something hand knitted, it's always great to have a fellow knitter knit for you. Only a fellow knitter can truly appreciate the time it took to choose the yarn, the pattern and the thought that goes into a hand knitted garment.

I would love love love to recieve some sort of organizer for my knitting needles. My needles are stored so haphazardly that it would be great to have something pretty to put them in. And I've seen so many nice, handmade ones that I get envy every time!

The latest that made me squel with delight was my sp10 pal sent me charmed knits with yarn and harry potter themed candy! the was the absolute best sp gift I've ever received!

I would definatley squeal with delight if I received ebony or rosewood sock needles. I seem to always bend the bamboo ones and don't really care for the metal ones. I haven't gotten any for myself because they're so expensive :(

Hi everyone and especially fellow Gryffindors...

I'm a relatively new knitter. As far as supplies I would love to have, I would enjoy knitting patterns, I would love to try some yarn that's made out of exotic fibers such as bamboo, soy or corn. I would also like to try knitting with ribbon yarn. I would like to try out some of the more unusual types of needles. All of my needles are bamboo or Addi Turbo's for circulars. I am getting really excited about knitting my first pair of socks!

I would definitely be excited about anything I got!

I bet your surprised I'm leaving you a message! I think I should win cause I'm your sister!
But I've really increased my stash this weekend so I have alot of projects lined up but I would really enjoy a kit to make a blanket (cause who knows when the one I started will get finished!) and I saw a really cute sweater pattern in the Webs catalog, it was a simple knit from the top down sweater, I think I might be able to make something like that!
Just thought I would add to the traffic on your blog, and I was thinking I could start posting pictures for some of my things on our knitsibs blog site since noone else is using it and I really don't have enough to fill up a whole blog with!
later! hope I win!!!!

Hi everyone - hope you had a great weekend. I would like stitch markers in any color but it would be special if they were handmade by another knitter who is also a beader. If they were from my secret pal that would be the best and I would probably squeal.

I don't think you can ever have enough stitch markers and row counters!

Ya, not sure if I can enter the contest, but I'm with everone else that said something home made- even if it's not a KNIT something.
